Title: Universal Catalog
Post by: cthomas on November 04, 2014, 02:48:21 AM
Why does IMatch 5 not have an Universal Catalog in it like IMatch 3.6? I know there is a reason for it and my curiosity is killing me. :)

I fabricated the universal catalog 10 years ago and included it in IMatch so users have something to start with. I don't know how many users ever used this.

Today there are so many vocabularies available which can be imported into the thesaurus or IMatch categories, I don't spend time with this. We recently had a discussion about controlled vocabularies and there is also a post on the photools.com Facebook site (https://www.facebook.com/photools/photos/a.764339056962600.1073741831.586261381437036/781820925214413/?type=1) with some links.

Is ther away that I can import the universal catalog in to IMatch 5?

"We recently had a discussion about controlled vocabularies"   Where can I find this and do they take the place of the universal catalog?

To find something, please use the community search function. I would have to do the same.

You can import IMatch 3 category schemata into IMatch 5 using the category import. Search the IMatch help for details.
