Title: Missing Hot Keys
Post by: relevanzraum on November 08, 2014, 05:06:32 AM
IMatch provides a lot of hotkeys for many functions. But not for all, there are function, I use very often and there is no possibility to use a keyboard hot key for it. Of course it would have been the best solution to make available all functions for individual hot keys, ie. every user can choose it individually. This is not the fact, OK, most of the hot keys that are provided by the system are reasonable.
I particularly miss hot keys for:
   Filter on/off
   Layouts

I'd really like to be able to assign a hot key for "all pending metadata write back"

My choices:
Filter On/Off   (easy to click off - but tiresome to turn it back on)

Rescan current folder

<Shift>+<F5> only works when you are in the Media and Folders panel. Or when you have
a thumbnail selected and you want to update it. If I want to update the folder I have to use the mouse first
to go to the M&F panel.

This is correct. I doubt that a "Rescan current folder even when I'm in the Category View or in  the Viewer" will really be needed. This may not only not needed by more than two users, but may also cause subtle focus or scope issues. I'd rather not.
