It seem like the category in IMatch do not support synonyms for category, so just wonder any workaround methods?
Anyway, I want to create a category hierarchy in taxonomy style for my wildlife images and may be calls (mp3 audio files):
|- Wildlife
|- Birds
|- Order (eg. Accipitriformes)
|- Family (eg. Accipitridae)
|- Species English Name (eg. black baza)
I also want to record the scientific name for the birds and their other names
(Some birds had many common names and names in other language).
One solution I'm thinking is to create 2 category hierarchies, 1 for scientific names and one for common names and making use of the alias categories:
|- Wildlife
|- Birds [Alias of Aves]
|- Family English name (eg. Eagles, Hawks) [Alias of Scientific Family Name]
|- Species English Name (eg. black baza) [Alias of Scientific Name]
|- Other names 1
|- Other names 2
|- Taxonomy
|- Aves
|- Order (eg. Accipitriformes)
|- Scientific Family Name (eg. Accipitridae)
|- Scientific Name (eg. Aviceda leuphotes)
|- Other Scientific Name if any
just wonder will this method work?? Any other suggestion??

Categories don't support synonyms and never will. Even thinking about the potential complexity caused by this makes me break sweat.
Look into Alias categories or category formulas. You can do anything you plan to do with that. Consider Alias categories as synonyms.
