Title: Format GPS altitude in metadata panel
Post by: Carlo Didier on December 28, 2014, 10:13:03 PM
I can't find any information in the help or by searching here in the forum, so here's the question:
How can I format the GPS altitude in the metadata panel so that it doesn't display any decimals?

I don't think you can.  You can format it to display without decimals in file window tooltip or in an app panel but I believe you're limited to what the value actually is in the metadata panel.  And to me that makes sense.

Except for date and time values, IMatch displays metadata in the Metadata panel 'as delivered' by ExifTool (the formatted value and the RAW value). This ensures that no data is lost due to a conversion etc. The Altitude value is declared as a rational, but formatted with an appended unit 'm'. IMatch does not touch this, re-format it or removes decimals.

If you want to control metadata formatting on this detail level, I suggest you look into the possibilities available in custom HTML templates for the App Panel.

Ok, thanks. I'll do that.
