Title: Ability to apply Metadata Templates from scrip
Post by: gangenen on January 09, 2015, 10:47:13 PM
It would be great to be able to apply metadata templates from a script in a similar way that we can do it now call the renamer with "RunRenamer". I am working on a import script and I need to copy metadata between fields. Depending on the file type the data that I need to copy changes. It is much easier for me to create and test a metadata template than it is to write this functionality in a script. And also future updates would be much easier if I could apply a Metadata Template directly from a script.

My target is to have the script doing all those tasks automatically rather than me calling first the script and the apply the metadata templates to some file formats.

Seems like a reasonable idea, consistent with the notion that we should prefer metadata templates for this kind of thing.
