Title: Changing Name of a mwg-region NAME
Post by: Frank on February 18, 2015, 03:35:16 PM
Hi,
I would like to change the name of multiple pictures within one run. But I did not find a way right now with IMATCH.

{File.MD.MWG::Regions\RegionsRegionListName\RegionName\0}    Harry_Lift; Ramona_Dig

I would like to replace the name e.g. "Ramona_Dig" into "Ramona_Air". All other names and the region itself hast to stay untouched.

How can I achive this?

XMP regions are very complex, structured tags. It is not advisable to manipulate individual elements.
ExifTool 'flattens' the XMP regions into the tags you apparently look at, but the region itself is a complex tag with many members which all need to be linked properly.

It's best to change the face annotations in the Viewer and let IMatch tag care for the rest. You cannot globally replace one name with another that way, though.

Thanks Mario,
than I have to do the change within Picasa. There I have done it already many times.

Well, then there is a way and we can move on.
You can also add a FR for IMatch
