Title: iMatch starting slow while loading metadata for small number of photos
Post by: JeffK on January 05, 2016, 12:46:34 PM
I often think my questions must be so obvious but here goes.

I have returned to iMatch after about 6 months of non use.  I have a test database of 100 photos, about 400MB worth.  If I opt for a database backup when closing the program down it takes about 2 minutes to load the photos on restart.  ie 1 to 2 seconds per photo reading the metadata.  It won't let me control the cursor in iMatch while this is happening.  The metadata is what is normally stored with the photo - no additional metadata has been added.  Why so slow for only 100 photos?  What might I be doing wrong.  Windows 10 on a pretty fast laptop.

Thanks for any help.

Jeff

Switch IMatch to debug logging under Help > Support and then repeat your steps.
ZIP and attach the log file afterwards. This will show us what exactly is taking how long, what IMatch is doing etc.

Search for log file in the IMatch help index for details.

Thanks Mario.  I'm in Australia so off to bed.  I'll do it in the morning although I'm having trouble replicating it consistently.
