Typos. You need to use back slashes "\" in Windows path names instead of forward slashes "/".

I thought so, but anyway I still get the same error weather I use the backslash or the forward slash.  see the image

Also select a language in the Language option below the dictionary.

" It then displays these languages here for you to choose from." The languages are empty and it won't let me type one in. So how do I get one? I have read and reread the help file. So please what do I need to do?

Show the contents of your dictionary folder. Also attach the IMatch log file. IMatch seems to be unable to find/load your spell dictionaries. Wrong format? Wrong folder?

Mario I spent all day yesterday on this and I still have something wrong. Look at the images and they will show you what I have done. I live in the USA so I would want USA Enlish.

Attached are my Preferences configuration for the spell checker (also US). These seem to match the last set you posted (except for language selection). If these settings don't work, double check to be sure you've selected the right 'flavor' of spell check file.

In my C:\ProgramData\photools.com\IMatch5\dictionaries folder, I have:
en_US.aff and enUS.dic

Your message https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?topic=5463.msg37901#msg37901 suggests that perhaps the dictionary files didn't get unzipped? As Mario suggested, please show the contents of your dictionaries folder. That info should help.

See the images.
I need to see the files in the folder supposed to hold your dictionary. If the files are in a wrong format or named incorrectly, IMatch cannot detect or use them.

This is how it should look (in this case, using US English, German and French Dictionaries):

Mario where can I get a copy of these files? What is the reason for the two images? They look the same to me.

I don't think I have the right files. Where can I get the right files?

The latest versions of the English dictionaries appear to be at http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/projectrelease/english-dictionaries-apache-openoffice-20160401

This download includes versions for US and also Austraila, New Zealand, etc. See the Help for the spell checker for more details. The short version is to download from the above link, rename dict-en.oxt to dict-en.zip and unzip the file. Copy the En_US.dict and En_US.aff files to C:\ProgramData\photools.com\IMatch5\dictionaries. (You won't need the others unless you're checking spelling for Australia, etc.)

Let us know if you have questions.
