When I add an image I can't see the attachments until I click the Post button.

The yellow text was added in an image editor, it's no part of the community software.
The inline an image in your text requires manual effort as well.
When you attach an image, first Post your post. Then right-click the attachment and use the "Copy Link Location" or whatever it is named command in your browser to get the URL of the attached image. Then use the Modify command to re-open your post and use the syntax:
