Title: Duplicate names when importing face tags from Lightroom
Post by: arneso on July 09, 2017, 03:04:14 PM
I'm testing a workflow where I import my pictures into Lightroom, using the face recognition feature there, and then import the pictures into IMatch 2017 and doing the rest of categorization and other work there.

I have created a new test database in IMatch 2017, using default values and values described in help (index Annotations). The face tags are imported fine into IMatch, but each name is duplicated under @Keywords: One time directly under @Keywords, and one time under @Keywords|person. Is there a way to avoid that? I'd like to keep it under @Keywords|person.

Or how are you others using this kind of workflow doing this?

Lr writes the "tags" you assign as flat keywords into your files. IMatch imports these.
Storing potentially hundreds of tags just flat on the top-level of keywords might not a be really smart idea. I don't know if you can influence that in Lr.

In IMatch you can control where to place the tags - aka which keyword hierarchy to create from face annotation tags.
If you don't like this, to to Edit > Preferences > Metadata 2 and change the Keywords Base setting. If you set this to empty, IMatch will also create face annotation tag keywords right at the top level.
