Title: Issue with removal of IM5
Post by: moorpipe on July 15, 2017, 09:09:37 PM
I was about to remove all IMatch5 references following the instructions in
https://www.photools.com/5515/uninstalling-imatch-2015-installing-imatch-2017/

I checked the application references in IMATCH 2017 to be sure they are pointing to imatch6 folders. They did for the files mentioned in the instructions:
Presets, Dictionary and User Dictionary Folder. However, I noticed another reference still pointing to imatch5:
C:\ProgramData\photools.com\IMatch5\config\imatch5.pts, which is the settings database filename.

I guess I'm lucky I didn't follow the instructions by deleting the imatch5 folders  ;)

By the way, according to the IMATCH6_LOG_MIGRATE.TXT file everything was copied over nicely.

What should I do?

The settings database is user-configurable (e.g. when used in shared environments and stored not on a local PC but on a network server).
IMatch 2017 copies over the file but cannot change the user-configurable setting. I will make that more clear in the instructions.

You can either keep this file, or copy it into the IMatch6 folder hierarchy and then update the user setting under Edit > Preferences > Application.

Thanks for making the appropriate changes in the instructions! Everything works fine now.
