Hi Mario

Thanks for this, downloaded and installed successfully.
So far no problems, all seems to work fine.

Good work!  :D

Same here -- NO problems, and I appreciate the changes to the File Finder app!

Cool.

Ps.: The File Window search bar also searches 100,000 files in 0.15 seconds  ;)

Just installed, no problems installing, runs smoothly.

One 'quirk' with the updated File Finder app I think. When running a query in the app it appears to always open 2 identical result windows.

Hm. Seems to be a regression. I had already fixed that but the version control did not roll it into the update. Or I messed up.

You can download an updated version of the app from the release notes page: https://www.photools.com/customer_portal/index.html#/relnotes

Yep, thanks for the quick new files for downloading.

I did so and it works also.
But for now I prefere the first one, because I can make several searches, every search opens a new result window.
And very nice, the name of each result window has the searched term, what I like.

The only thing is, that the first search two identical result windows, but then not more. So this is nicer for mem hence I leave it like it was (see attachement, like it is).

The File-Finder App uses one common result window. I removed the special treatment for the File Name search to keep the app simple, avoid duplicate result windows and to make it easier to follow what the app is doing. This is a sample app for aspiring programmers to study.

It would not be hard to change one search mode, or all, to produce individual result windows. I just down know if there is enough demand, I'll wait for feature requests coming in.

This File Finder with the new filename-search is really cool.
I want quickly search a file, I cannot remember when it was, but I can remember a fraction of the filename.
Simply open the File Finder, write a text and impressive quickly I have the results in the result window. Cool.

I personally loved always the search over the whole DB, because this gives me the feeling, not to be in the wrong scope.
Except of coures, when I exactly know, where a file is.

A new user from IMatch will have with this search for sure not such problems like with the File Windwos search bar, because there we have to take attention, where we are, in what folder and so on.
Or with the filters. Although they are of course very mighty.

Not here with a search over the whole DB.  :D

I have enhanced the File-Finder App. You can now control if new results are opened in new result windows or if the last result window is reused.

This is great!

Only a short question, is the search-expression also in the pane-name (see atteachement)?
This was in your very first version the case and this is really helpful, specially if you have several result-panes.
