Title: How to search for all images taken in a city that is your hometown
Post by: lightchaser on September 27, 2017, 09:10:37 PM
Dear forum members, this sounds like an easy task, but actually it's not easy for me. As I do have the name of my city not only in the city tag of my metadata but also in the Copyright tag, the search result shows all of my images. How can I get the result I need.
Thank you in advance for your help
Franz

This can be accomplished many ways... one way - select all your images and use a filter to choose only the city metadata tag ({File.MD.Composite\City\City\0}) and then have it equal to your hometown.  Only those images with the city in that tag will show.

See Filter Panel-> Metadata Search and give it a shot!

Enjoy!

As Jingo points out, using a Value metadata filter on the City tag is the easiest solution:

If you have created a location for your home town in the Map Panel, you can use the GPS filter and just pick your home town location:

Yet another solution would be to set the target marker in the Map Panel and then draw a circle or outline to find all files in that region:
