Title: Enabling/Disabling filter panel (pause button) using keyboard shortcut
Post by: blackhead2 on November 05, 2017, 09:01:30 AM
as I often enable/disable the filter panel as mentioned in the linked thread I would like to have a possibility to enable or disable the filter panel using a keyboard shortcut:

https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?topic=7330.0

Another advantage I see is when using a screen which has no full-hd display (e.g. my laptop display  ;)) I can toggle the filter even if the filter panel tab is not currently shown. For example when I edit the metadata of a photo I don't have the space to show the filter panel too. On my external screen this is not a problem as I can easily place the metadata panel and filter panel next to each other without losing to much space.

So, if someone else also would also see a keyboard shortcut as an advantage please add your +1  ;)

Regards,

Jens

I +1 this.

The next release supports <Ctrl>+<F6> to toggle the pause state of the filter panel.
I've implemented this as one of the rare global hotkeys, which allows you to toggle the pause window independent from which window/panel is currently active.

Hurray. It's been one of my feature requests in the early days of IM5.
Thanks

Do you recall the thread number? I did not find it.

I can't find it either. I had suggested that one can turn on filtering just like turning it off - by clicking on the
filter icon in the blue title bar. The blue colour indicates anyway that the filter is on - so by leaving the funnel icon on
the bar even when the filter is off it could have an on/off functionality.

This means one need not open the filter panel just to turn filtering on.
The new Ctrl F6 allows the same, just not with the mouse.

Maybe it is this one? See reply #10...

Yes, that's the one.
I figured it must be hidden among some other postings.

IMatch 2017.11.2 actives the filter panel automatically when there was an active filter when IMatch was closed. The FP also restores the pause state correctly. So I've moved this FR to done already. See https://www.photools.com/release-notes/ for the many, many changes and enhancements in the upcoming release.
