Title: IMatch should ignore changed or deleted XMP files
Post by: RobiWan on December 01, 2017, 06:51:03 AM
Hi,

So now I have imported all my pictures. For this I have had many detours XMP files created. The big question for me now - how do I get IMatch not to do an automatic update if I delete the previously created files?

And the second question - Can it be that these files are created by IMatch? Why? (I mean files with long name, see my screenshot)

ExifTool creates XMP files with the same name as the image.
The files in your screen shot have two extensions. The file name, then a second extension with a series of numbers. Then the XMP extension added by IMatch.
I don't know how you managed to create these files.

IMatch has to detect when an XMP file file has changed - because that is where the metadata comes from. If IMatch detects a modified image or XMP file, it will rescan the file to update the database.
Missing or deleted XMP files will be re-created when IMatch writes back metadata.
