Notes creates a per Image attribute set called ImatchNotes. If the user has already a per Image attribute set this interferes - i.e. replaces the users set.
(At least I have not found a way to switch between several attribute sets.)
Request: the Notes app should check if there is already a per Image attribute set and append the Note field to it.
(Or allow setting this manually).
The Name "IMatchNotes" has been chosen to minimize the risk of the user having an Attribute Set with the same name already.
This will not replace or interfere with existing per-file Attribute Sets - unless you have named your set "IMatchNotes". But even then the set will just be used, not deleted or anything...
When I open the Attributes panel it shows me the ImatchNotes attributes. How can I change to my Attribute set?
All Attribute sets are listed as "tabs" at the bottom of the Attribute Panel.
The IMatchNotes Attribute set is always created as a hidden set and will not show up there - unless you have changed this setting under Edit > Preferences > Attributes.

Thanks. I overlooked the tabs at the bottom. I had set the notes as un-hidden - probably when I first tested it.

It does. The info in the built-in help IMatch 1017 is the same as online (at least for this topic).
Search for Displays two tabs, one for each set to find the info in the help.
Another potential notes-related feature would be a broader "notepad" that's not associated with individual files. Basically just a scratch pad to type stuff in -- reminders, hex codes, etc.
I use VarToy as a notepad now, and it works, but that window can get pretty cluttered when I'm experimenting. A simple text editor with some formatting functions would be very helpful!
Maybe such a feature will be part of IMatch 2020...who knows...
