Title: Thumbnail Sync Problem
Post by: afengler on September 28, 2018, 11:04:48 PM
Some of the images in this folder display the wrong thumbnail image as shown in the attached screenshot. This probably happened when I deleted some files outside of IMatch which of course is a no-no. Is there a quicker way to correct this other then removing the complete folder and re-indexing all image files in it?

I've had this happen a few times before [thumbnail is correct/preview image is wrong].  A rescan of the files in the folder fixes the problem.. give a Ctrl-F5 a shot..  good luck!

In my case the thumbnail is incorrect and the preview correct. A rescan did not help, looks like re-indexing is necessary...

If you press Shift+Ctrl+F5 and do a "forced rescan" IMatch rescans the file, updates the thumbnail and (if existing) the cache image (for preview/Viewer).
If this does not help, attach the log file (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#im_logfile.htm) of that very IMatch session. Maybe IMatch is running into problems with some of your files.

Thanks, Mario and Jingo, 'Shift+Ctrl+F5' did the trick! Apparently when right-clicking the folder and selecting 'Rescan now', the 'Normal Rescan' is performed by default whereas the 'Forced Update' was necessary. Learning something new every day...

"Rescan now..." searches for new, updated and deleted files. It does not throw away all thumbnails and cache images, this would not be useful  ;)
As documented you can hold down <Ctrl> when using this command from the context menu to get additional options. Or use one of the keyboard shortcuts indicated in the right-click menu.
