I'd LOVE to have a general option to switch off ALL tool tips that pop up everywhere and annoy the hell out of me because they have an uncanny tendency to hide what I want to see or click.
Yes, although (happily) I'm not quite as annoyed as you are Carlo by the few remaining Tooltips in my setup, I too would like the option to turn them all off - even if it was only for the current session.
In other words, I'd accept it if some more 'important' Tooltips were re-enabled each time I restarted IMatch.

Right-click on the thumbnail in the Viewer. Disable "Show Tooltip".
Aaaah! I was searching in the settings where you configure the tooltips.
New suggestion then: add that option in the settings.
I think its better to keep the options related to the thumbnail strip easily accessible via the thumbnail strip. Only the most global viewer settings go into the Application settings.
