Title: Metadata Mechanic Enhancement for next release
Post by: Mario on April 08, 2019, 03:34:39 PM
Based on feedback written in RFC  Change Date and Time (https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?topic=8942.0) I learned that users have custom apps to write sequential numbers to metadata / attributes, e.g. to persist a manual sort sequence. Others produce sequential date series to make their files sort correctly in other applications which are not as powerful as IMatch when it comes to sorting files.

The date sequence will be handled by an option in the Time Wiz app which will be part of IMatch 2020.

And while thinking about writing sequential numbers to metadata to persist a specific sort sequence or whatever, I thought that this would be a nice addition to the  Metadata Mechanic App included in IMatch. So I've added a new operation named Sequence, which makes it super-easy to write a sequence defined by start, step and number of digits to any metadata tag of your liking (transmission reference, perhaps).

This example wills the Transmission Reference of all selected files with a number in the format 001,002,003,004,...

Should be leading
