Title: viewer category panel steals focus for picture shortcuts
Post by: Gerhard on June 29, 2019, 04:38:29 PM
Hello,
I didn't find a similar question, so I ask it here:
When I have open the viewer window with the side panel categories and I click on one or more categories (to add them to the picture), then I cannot use default shortcuts like left or right to advance the picture.
I have either to click in the picture to set focus to the picture or to select another picture from the filmstrip.
Is there already such a hotkey?

For me it is ok to have the arrow keys to navigate within the category panel, but I would like to have 2 keys or key combinations to go forth and back in the images as well. This speeds up tagging.

When you activate that panel, keyboard input goes to it because it becomes the active window.
You can navigate the files in the Viewer with the scroll wheel or again after clicking into the image panel or using Ctrl+Tab to focusing it.

I recommend you add a feature request if you want to see changes in this area.

I would support a feature request for the left and right arrow keys to go back and forth between images.

This would be very convenient and save many extra mouse moves and clicks when categorizing photos using the viewer.
