Title: Three letter ISO code from reverse geocoding?
Post by: lbo on August 22, 2019, 10:25:52 AM
Hi,

a screenshot posted in a thread from 2018 (https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?topic=8209) and the IMatch help Reverse Geocoding (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#tools_revgeocoding.htm) show three letter codes in the reverse geocoding dialog, but currently I get two letter codes from Google and Geonames.org.

Did Google change the return values some day?

I wonder whether/why there is a transition from three letter to two letter codes and who started it. Old IPTC-IIM (still used by agencies => needed) required three letter codes, Adobe products seems to default to two letter codes.

That's, hmm, "inconvenient" if one wants to use this field for filtering or searching.
