Dear Mario,
I read in the help-file, that a IM5-database can used in a netwerk and that the database is locked, if a user has opened it in write-enabled-mode.
Is there a possibility in IM5, where the user can be identified, who is blocking the database?
Is there a possibility to start IM5 automatic in read-only-modus?
1. No. IMatch checks if it can open the database in exclusive write mode (file system access mode) and it that fails, it opens the database in read-only mode. It cannot tell why the file is locked of by which application. The locking application may be not IMatch.
2. See Database menu > Open Databases read-only, and the corresponding help topic.
Hi Mario,
in a network it is important to prevent, that read-only-users can change the preferences.
Is there a possibility to control access to the preferences with a password?
No. Every user can change his preferences and global preferences.
