Title: Formula-based Category Search with Builder in Webviewer
Post by: regstuff on November 14, 2019, 12:50:26 PM
Hello,
I'm using the Imatch Webviewer and am trying to use the Category Builder to construct complex queries with the categories. For eg. Cat1 AND Cat2 NOT Cat3 NOT Cat4

I am able to do this in regular Imatch but am unable to find the Builder interface in Webview. All I see is the Builder as another category listed under Categories.

Is this not possible in Webviewer?

There is no such feature in IMatch WebViewer.

The WebViewer has been designed to be simple to use. And this means a sufficient but reduced and simplified feature set.
Many (if not most) WebViewer users have never used IMatch. And don't know anything about categories or even formulas.

The category builder is a rarely used feature in IMatch to temporarily construct complex category formulas.
Usually you persist these formulas into categories if you want to keep them. And these categories would then also be available in IMatch WebViewer.

For normal AND/OR combinations, the Navigator supports that.

Thank you for the response.
I'm guessing that also means there's no way to add files from the webviewer interface?

No. The available features are explained in the WebViewer help file which you can access via the "Help" button in WebViewer.

IMatch Anywhere is an add-on for IMatch. IMatch is required for creating and maintaining the database.
