Face Recognition Issues and Performance Concerns with IMatch 2025

Hello,
I recently purchased IMatch 2025 and I'm experiencing some difficulties with the face recognition feature and overall performance. I'd appreciate some guidance on the following issues:

Face Recognition Activation:
I can't figure out how to activate the face recognition feature. When I open an image in the viewer and press F6, I get this message:
"Please disable visual proxies when you want to work with annotations (<T>+<X>)."
I'm not sure what visual proxies are or how to interpret the <T>+<X> instruction.
It also states: "No faces detected" despite six faces showing in the picture (See attached picture).

Performance Issues:
Despite having a fast computer, it takes 5 to 10 seconds to open a single image in the viewer! I can hear my computer's fans increase speed, suggesting high CPU usage. I never experienced this in the previous version of iMatch.

Automatic Face Recognition:
How can I set up face recognition to run automatically when I open a photo?
I've searched the forum and online manual but couldn't find answers to these specific issues. Any help or explanations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

You have created a file relation that makes some files versions of other files. And configured the version to be used as the proxy image for the master file. See As Visual in the Version help topic.

Since the proxy image can be sized totally different than the master (cropped, resized), the Viewer does not perform face recognition when the proxy image instead of the actual file (master) is shown. Do what the Viewer recommends to switch from viewing proxy images to viewing the original images. Then run face detection.

What is IMatch doing at the time? Opening the Viewer takes only one processor core and loading a few images in advance. This is hardly anything that will make the fans spin.
Look at the Info & Activity panel (View menu > Panels > ...) and see if IMatch is ingesting files, running face reclustering etc.

You cannot.
Either you enable the automatic face detection under Edit menu > Preferences > Application (see Automatic Face Detection) or you trigger it manually for any number of files Running Face Detection or in the Viewer.
