Unconfirmed count remains forever after leaving Face Manager, until...

This is easily reproduced. Not *quite* sure what I would suggest for a fix.

  • In People view, select a person with unconfirmed matches.
  • Open Face Manager and confirm (or take other action to eliminate all unconfirmed photos)
  • Save and Exit Face Manager

The person will retain their Unconfirmed count, until:
  • You move off of that person, AND
  • The database has finished updating

Thus, if I do NOT move off that person, it never changes. Until I realized this, I re-entered the Face Manager, looking for the unconfirmed matches I had missed ;)

A half-baked suggestion:
  • Replace the count with (something... maybe "??") upon exiting Face Manager, and
  • Update automatically when database update finished

Try to press F5 to enforce an immediate update. I've made a quick test but could not reproduce it.
Maybe IMatch was still calculating new data, refreshing categories, reclustering persons and whatnot?
What's the database size, how many persons, which IMatch version, what kind of computer etc?
Please always attach a ZIPPED logfile (see log file) from the IMatch session where you experienced a problem.

Interesting. I can't NOT reproduce it, can wait as long as I want and it does not change by itself.

In the attached debug log, I:

  • Opened app with debug logging on
  • Waited for it to settle
  • Went to People panel, selected a person (with 3 unconfirmed pix)
  • Went to Face Manager and took care of them
  • Saved, exited
  • Still shows 3. Waited almost a minute. App doing nothing at all.
  • Cursor up to previous person. Count immediately changed to one unconfirmed.
  • Cursor down to same person. Count went to zero.
  • Waited a bit longer. Closed app.

(Yes, F5 forces a reload of the panel, and the count goes to zero.)

I'll slide this in here as well, on another issue you noted: I ran procmon watching for what happens with the set of not-found DLL's. Here's the answer... (I suspect you will immediately know what it means; I sure don't :) )
  • The listed DLL's are all <something>6x64.dll -- the error is real: those files do not exist.
  • Before checking those files, iMatch first finds, successfully, the equivalent <something>6Ex64.dll

Yep. If that's the issue, no worries :) .. I'm only two days into this.

Mario

Please install the latest trial version (2023.8.1) which already might include a bug fix for this.
Let me know. I will do some additional tests here.

Mario

Made some improvements for the 2023.8.4 release. Should be fixed now.

FYI, can't update a trial version. The update process assumes I'm a registered user and blocks updates if I can't give reg code and email.

I'll test on registered (now my main) and a separate trial version in a bit.

If you are no customer, you don't have access to the customer portal.
Just download the latest trial version (2023.8.3) from https://www.photools.com/downloads/
