Remove version link

I have the problem that a master file has versions that don`t belong to it. How can I remove this link? I tried to mark both the master and the versions, then right click and remove manual version link. But that doesn`t work.

This only applies to manual versions. If the link is not manual, you cannot remove it that way.

If a file is "grabbed" by your version rule, you can only "break" the link by correcting your version rule (change the pattern that finds the versions to be more precise).
