Video files to cache

Hi,

I would like to discuss the following feature request: Possibility to add video files to cache (like for images) with smaller file-size.

Why: I'm working with two computers. "Main" (desktop) computer with big HDD (contains all original images and videos). "Second" (laptop) computer with smaller HDD contains just cached images. Both computers have IMatch installed and the DB is copied between both computers (depends where I'm currently working). Due to the cached images on the laptop I'm able to view them within IMatch (all original files would not fit on the HDD). I would like to have something similar for videos (playing them in an external video-player).

This would need the additional option to open IMatch cached files with an external application (external video-player / image-viewer).

IMatch extracts 1 to 10 thumbnails from video files and stores them in the database.
It also produces a larger cache image (like for any other file) when you first open the video in the Viewer.

Usually you should not only copy the database between computers, but also the cache folder for that database (Pack & Go offers this as an option).
