What does ring tone mean?

On infrequent occasions, in any view, when I click on a folder, file, category etc, there is a ring tone.  What is this trying to tell me?

IMatch uses a Beep to indicate certain invalid states, invalid input and the like.
Without more info I cannot deduce anything. When you can reproduce this, try closing some panels to see if they cause it, e.g. when updating something because you changed the scope.
