Hello,

I have a question about forum software.
What does the icon "Logged" in a post mean?

I have never bothered about this. Most likely to help with keeping the spammers out (I have to remove about 20 SPAM accounts per week, sometimes more).

The community help says:

IP addresses are shown to administrators and moderators to facilitate moderation and to make it easier to track people up to no good. Remember that IP addresses may not always be identifying, and most people's IP addresses change periodically.

Members are also allowed to see their own IPs.

Believe me, I give a shit about the IP addresses of users visiting this free (paid for by me!) and open community.
The community must log IP addresses to fight flooding from the same servers (happens often, just today again).
I don't keep logs longer as needed, I never look at them until there are problems or yet another SPAM bot tries to worm into and post ads and whatnot.
I don't track you, I don't sell your data, I don't post ads (I should, to re-finance the costs for servers running this community!) etc.
Logs are cleared every 30 days, except for moderation logs (when posts are reported to a moderator) which are kept for 90 days to support arbitration.
Moderators can see more information about each post, especially when a post is flagged or reported by another user.
They help to keep this community nice, clean and SPAM-free.
