Hello,

sometimes i would like to copy pictures from a location that is open in the windows file explorer to a folder that is handled by iMatch.
When i press CTRL+C (or via the windows context menu) i right click in the iMatch file window but the menu entry "paste" is greyed.
Of course i can drag & drop files from the explorer, but i am so much more used to CTRL+C / +V.
Is this possible somehow?

Best Regards
Ben

I believe copy and pasting an image within IMatch is limited to existing images already in the IMatch database.

However you can use Explorer to paste an image into a folder that IMatch is monitoring and once IMatch rescans that folder the image should be added to the IMatch database.

I believe the same like John.
I have simply added a folder for such case. I put a file in the folder (you could do it like you want with Ctrl C/V) and then IMatch scans this folder.
Because the folder has mostly only 1-20 Bilder, the import is very fast, no problem.
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

You can drag files from Windows Explorer into a File Window in the Media & Folders View.
Hold down <Ctrl> to make a copy, else the file is moved to the folder into which you drop.
Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V only works within  Explorer, or IMatch.

See: Dropping Files and Folders from Windows Explorer in the File Management in IMatch help topic.

Ok, thanks for clarification.
Would that be a big effort to implement it between explorer and iMatch?

Probably. Maybe a full development day for figuring out what needs changing, implementation, writing tests, testing, documenting, updating all references in the help to include the new workflow, new resources, translations etc..

Doing drag and drop from Windows Explorer is quick and comfortable.
I would also guess that moving/copying individual files from Windows Explorer to IMatch is not something many users do (or even know about).
