Now that I'm back working with Imatch I thought I try out the new feature removing files from the result window.

Here is what I did:

90 files in result window, 23 marked as rejected.
Use quick filter to show only rejected files
Select all 23 rejected files
Use Ctrl-R, R, all 23 files are removed from the filtered window
Pause filter, all 90 files are shown in result window, including the ones removed in the previous step
Filter again and the 23 rejected files are shown

Removal works when the rejected files are manual selected from the unfiltered window.

Yes. You are willfully producing different "versions" (scopes) of your result window that way.
And you remove files from one scope, and then produce a new scope by running the filter again.

You have to remove the files from each new scope you produce that way.
Not sure if it will be worth the time and effort to deal with such a particular use case.

I already regret adding this feature.

Yes, I do. But isn't that the normal use case? I consider the result window a temporary category, if I remove an item it should be removed, just like unassigning a category. Otherwise I have to manually select all files to remove them from the result window. I rather use the power of Imatch to create the selection and remove them from the result window.

I understand, the feature is nice to have but there are many other ways in Imatch to do this. I guess most common is to select the files in the result window and create a new result window. If you keep the feature as is, maybe add a hint in the help to explain how the removal woks with filters.

I have fixed this. When the user now removes files from the Result Window, IMatch goes back the entire chain and also removes these files from the query that initially produced the contents of the Result Window.
