User-defined sort does not work

I have noticed several times that the user-defined sorting does not seem to work properly.

The following has happened:

I sort 400 photos with the "Custom" setting. After finishing work, I close IM, back up the database and photos, restart IM and realize that the user-defined sorting I had previously made was not saved.

What is going wrong?

I have never noticed anything like this and neither are there any open bug tickets or similar reports.
I use custom sorting personally quite often and it always "sticks".

Which View are you in?
Did you use filters when applying the custom sort?
Are filters active now?
Any detail matters.

it is possible that this problem is based on a different, for me inexplicable behavior of IM.

After restarting IM everything was fine again.

As usual, I write back all metadata if I think it is necessary for the last changes I made.

In the current case, I had 12 files whose metadata had not yet been saved (all MP4). I have therefore written back all the affected metadata. When I close IM, I always wait until "Info & Activity" shows me that the "DB Idle Time", "Idle Time" and "Entries in Queue" tell me that IM is no longer actually doing anything.

Please consider this issue closed.
