Stunning improvment over 3.6

Mario,
I'm now using IMatch 5 in earnest. The viewer window is stunning!
It does everything I could want and things I had never thought I needed but are useful. You have certainly put a tremendous amount of thought into the user needs.

The HELP file is easy to navigate around and is very rich in detail.

Thank you for spending the time to code this order of magnitude improvement.

I used to have my files organized by month in the main directory - this was becoming cumbersome as the years went by.
I wanted to change to year/month. This would have been tedious to do with IMatch 3.6, having to drag individual folders. Worked a treat in IMatch 5 being able  to drag multiple folders.

Aubrey.  :)

Hi Aubrey,

Probably you don't even need the month-categories anymore as another new feature is the timeline-view: all images are automatically sorted on year/quarter/month/day.

Well, thank you very much!

It's good to hear from time to time that all the work was worth it and that users actually like IMatch 5. Usually we discuss only bugs and "how to get this done properly" topics here. A user taking the time to just tell us his positive (and negative) impressions about IMatch 5 is a welcome relief.

Yes, I'd like to second that! I too have become a big fan of this program.

Though I've posted lots of little bug reports and some may seem a bit nitpicky, much of that is because I would like to see this program succeed. I've tried a lots of other software; nothing else comes close to the depth of this iMatch.

I expect that once this is released, peoples admiration will be something you can take to the bank (likely with the help of a wheelbarrow or two.)

'Hope so. I've not only invested a lot of time in IMatch 5 but also quite a heap of cash...

I fully agree with the comments made above.

I would like to add that I am really tempted to use IM5 for my "real" database.

As it is still beta I don't, you never know what might happen.

But as it is now I have not seen crashes for months and months, it is stable as a rock on my machine, all features I could ever wish for are there and even my utterly MWG incompatible workflow seems to work now.

I am prepared to drop money for a license in your first wheelbarrow today  ;)
Enjoy!

Herman.
