The following is with respect to version 5.0.142, but I'll be upgrading to 5.0.144 shortly.

Say, for example, I'm typing in "Credentials" to filter by.  If I type too slowly, the process will begin.  This is fine, but then I have to wait for the process to complete, and this could take a long time, if I only got as far as typing in "cre".  Two things here, is there anyway to have it so that I can interrupt the process to type in another search string, because the way it is now, it gets stuck and I I have to wait like 15 seconds to be ready again.  Secondly, is there a global setting that affects the global time that IMatch waits for keyboard input before the process commences?

Finally, even if I just use a copy and paste to enter "Credentials", then IMatch focuses on the top node of the database, which grinds things to a halt here, as well, because there are 106,000 files in my database.  So what can I do about this?

The filter panel monitors you typing and starts searching  when you stop typing for about a half second. IMatch uses a standard Windows delay setting for this. I can see it I can make it a big slower to respond.

Usually this operation is really fast even if you have thousands of folders. How long does it take on your system to reload the folder tree?

Usually the auto pause in the file window kicks in and prevents it from loading. Did you disable auto pause?

Okay, I now know (which I didn't before) the function of auto pause.  Yes, it was off.  However, there still seems to be an anomaly:  If I set it to kick in with as few as 2,000 images, if the focus goes to the top of the database, IMatch will still freeze for about 10-15 seconds before it kicks in.  This is i light of the fact that if I normally click on a drive that has roughly 40,000 images, the display of all those files can be within 3 seconds.

IMatch first needs to determine how many files are to be displayed in the file window in order to know if the pause should be enabled. And the number of files to display depends on the source, if and which filters are enabled, if and which hierarchy mode is enabled. If the data IMatch needs to determine is not yet cached, it can take a few seconds to retrieve it.
