Is it possible (like in IMatch 3) to do a true (not virtual) rotation of an image (jpg) using a short-cut key. In IMatch 3 it was ctrl + right arrow to rotate clockwise and crtl + left arrow to rotate counterclockwise.

Thanks

Mario

Please just right-click an image and check the commands available under Rotate and Transform. This menu also shows the keyboard shortcuts.

Print out the Quick Reference Guide (Help menu) for handy keyboard cheat sheets.

Type rotate into the index in the IMatch help to find all help topics dealing with rotation. Rotate > Transform explains how IMatch virtually rotates files, deals with crop and rotation data in XMP etc. Check it out.

OK. I took a good look at all this material and I still can't find a short-cut key to do a permanent rotation of my image. All the short-cut keys I can find are for virtual transformations.

In IMatch 3 using ctr + right arrow did a permanent or JPG lossless clockwise rotation but in IMatch 5 the only way I can find to do the same thing is to use the command menu or right click and then go into the rotate and transform area. In all this takes a number of steps vs. simply pressing two buttons.

Is there not a short-cut key to do a lossless transformation of JPGs or a way to create a short-cut key for this action? If not I will request this as a feature request.

Please let me know if I am overlooking something. Thanks.

Mario

Ah, you want to physically rotate an JPEG image on disk.

That's not often used these days, the camera and software vendors finally have a grip on tat.

To physically rotate an image use the Commands > Image > Lossless Rotate JPEG file command.
No keyboard shortcuts are available for physical image rotation.

Thanks Mario. Sorry for any confusion. I take pictures in a certain situation where the images are often rotated the wrong way and while a virtual transformation works in IMatch, once I open it in another application it is rotated back the way it came out of the camera.

So I will go ahead and make a feature request that we can have a short-cut key for physically rotating an image to the right or left or for that matter 180 degrees.

Thanks again for all your responses and so fast. The support for IMatch 5 is absolutely incredible. That alone is a reason for eveyone to buy this product.
