folder favorite outside the database?

Is it possible to add a folder that is not included in the database to your favorites?    I frequently copy versions of files to folders that I do not want to catalog.  I was able to do this via the quick copy in 3.6.  3.6 would ask if you wanted to index the folder.

So far the only way I know to do this in 5  is via ctl-C, go to the folder in windows and , ctl-V.

I would much rather hit a favorite button.

Favorites only work on in-database objects.

The renamer allows you to copy files to a folder without adding the folder to the database.
You can also add a renamer preset to your favorites, so perhaps this can be configured to do what you want.
Enjoy!

Unfortunately, the  renamer idea did not work.   The files I am trying to copy are versions that also have a buddy relationship to their masters.

The renamer will not perform the operation on the buddy files even though nothing is being renamed, and the folder I am copying them to will not even be in the database.

That is a pity....

Although it makes sense that buddy files can not be renamed, it would break the file relation.

Now one could argue if copying a buddy to a location outside the database requires the renaming protection......

Hopefully Mario monitors this discussion and share his thoughts.
Maybe this is something for a feature request?
Enjoy!

I generally use drag and drop for this kind of thing, but something internal to IMatch would be useful.  I'd support a feature request.

(Actually, I also have a script that does this, but it's not designed for the general case.)

I too made myself a script to copy files to external (outside IM) folders.
It asks for the location of the folder.
Still missing is a Most Recently Used option.
I attach it here in case someone likes to use it.
