Questions about Protected Files

Two questions on protected files:

1. Although I have no files protected, the Shield icon is displayed in the status bar indicating that protected files are hidden. Does this just indicate whether or not the "Protected Files Visible" option is set?

2. I don't use the protected files feature and would like to disable it. I don't see anywhere in the UI to do that, so I guess this is not possible. The next best thing would be to always have "Protected Files Visible" selected, but this doesn't appear to be "sticky" between sessions. Should it be sticky?

Thanks,
David

1. Yes.
2. It auto-resets when you restart IMatch (protection goes to on again). This is the required behavior.

Unless you protect files, both options/behaviors do not impact you.

That's true, unless you accidentally protect files, as I have done and at least one other user on the board has done. Then it takes some hunting around to figure out that the files are protected and how to unprotect them. Not a big deal once you know, but it would still be nice, for those of us who don't use this feature, to be able to effectively disable it by permanently making the "Protected Files Visible" option sticky. I'll put in a feature request and see if anyone else "Likes" it.
