Why does it take IMatch so long to Import Metadata?

Been discussed many many times... please perform a quick search and you'll find lots of info that details what IMatch is doing (preview cache, catalog imports, data-driven categories, and then metadata import [which takes the longest]).  If you image files are on a slow drive or even worse, on a NAS - this adds to the delays.

And of course, as always. attach the IMatch log file. We don't even know if your database has 20,000 or 500,000 files, which file formats you are processing, if your files are on a local disk or a remote NAS storage (100 times slower), how long ExifTool takes per file and so on.

The log file would tell us all this, and we had actually some data which would allow us to give you an informed answer and tips.
