Categories and keywords link?

Is there any link between categories and keywords? If I categorise photos in iMatch can those category names be automatically written as keywords in the metadata?

Use the special @Keyword category hierarchy for that. This hierarchy mirrors the keywords in your files and offers additional features.

Thank you, Mario. I have looked at the help file but I can't see the solution to my query. Sorry if I have missed it. I have expansive categories which I have used for a long time but I would now like to also make use of keywords. I can't see a way to transfer my categorised photos data to @keywords so that all the work I have done in categories can now become keywords also. Is there a way?

Your question was unclear.

I now understand that you have never used keywords, or you have and you have additional category assignments you now want to transfer into keywords?
