New map panel icon size

Is there any way to adjust the size of the icons on the new map panel in 2017?

I find that with the layout I have on a 1920x1080 display the icons are too big to the point where they move onto a second line. So I end up with quite a bit of the map "hidden".

Also, related to this, the setup menu doesn't scroll. So if there isn't enough space for the whole menu to be seen, you can't get at the entries at the bottom.

So I find I am having to keep switching to and from a maximised map panel to.

Thanks

Andy

Sure. If your combination of screen resolution and Windows font-scaling produces too large fonts and elements, you can easily adapt the App Panel scale under Edit > Preferences > Application.

See the know-how article App Panel Scaling in the IMatch Knowledge Base. Or the IMatch help for more info.

OK, thanks Mario. That has improved things, but it's still not ideal. That has scaled the whole panel, whereas I really just want to scale the icons. They seem far too big compared to all other icons. And I still cannot get to the bottom items on the settings menu without making the panel larger.

I have a standard display. The scaling is set to 100% and it is 1920x1080, all fairly normal. As you can see from the attached screen shot, with everything set to default (app scaling = 0) the icons seem overpowering.

By the looks of it you have reduced the width of the panel a lot. Not all panels can really operate on such narrow width. The app is responsive and does what it should, wrapping the buttons into a second row.
If you don't want this, make the panel wider or 'float' it into a separate window.

The button size is controlled by the responsive theme and cannot be changed by the user.

The only option I have would be to fold the entire toolbar into a "Hamburger" button. But that's for mobiles, not desktop applications.

The window is the default size, I haven't changed it. If I make it any wider I will loose space in the main window and not have as many photo icons visible. Yes, I could float it, but then it gets in the way.

For now I will manage by reducing the app panel scaling, but it would be good if you could find a way to reduce the icon size in the future. They just seem ridiculously large compared to the icons on most other panels.

Thanks for the help

If you've got room on your desk I would suggest getting a second monitor - a cheap used one is all you need - then move your panels onto it.  It frees up a lot of real estate on the main screen.  You'll wonder how you managed without it after a while.

If you set the App Panel scale to match your 1920 pixel screen size, the buttons will be about the same size.
IMatch apps are written to be responsive, and when you use them on a touch screen or a standard 4K monitor, the size is just about right.

1920 pixel is now really a minimum resolution and may require some trade-offs, e.g. by scaling the app panel a bit if you need to squeeze in as many panels as possible.
Or you set the panels to auto-hide. Or you set the Folder / Category view panel to auto-hide etc. Lots of ways in IMatch to ger the best out of small monitors.
