How can I reset/remove target marker from a map?
Currently I close the map and then reopen it.

The only thing I see in help file is Locating a target marker.

Thanks,
Aubrey.

Mario

Why would you want to do that?
The target marker is positioned wherever you clicked last.
No need or way to 'remove' it from the map.

I can relate to Aubrey's concern, for I've had the same experience with the map panel when I've inadvertently clicked somewhere on the map without meaning to.

For me it's when an image already has properly assigned GPS coordinates so seeing the target marker somewhere else on the map is distracting.

But the target marker and the marker used to indicate the position of the selected image(s) is quite different.
You can just pan the map to another position, to move the target marker outside the visible area?

The only change for a "remove target marker" command would be in the drop-down menu.
The Map panel toolbar is already quite full and would probably start wrapping into a second line for many users when I add a new button.
A drop-down for the target marker button would be possible, but prone to accidentally false clicks, causing the target marker to be assigned to the selected files...
Context menu of the target marker perhaps?

Yes, why not a context menu to remomve the target marker?
I tried also to remove the target marker, because sometimes it make me simply nervous.  8)
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

I have added a context menu command. Try it out. Replace your

C:\ProgramData\photools.com\IMatch6\webroot\imatch\apps

with the map app from the attached ZIP file.

I must be missing something because when I right click over the open map module there is no context menu at all with or without a target marker.

Edit:  I did replace the map module as you said then restarted IMatch but no map context menu

Correction.  With a Google map loaded there is no context menu, with Bing or Open Streets there is but I don't see anything regarding the target marker (see attached).

Mario

Left-click the target marker icon. Same for all other marker in the map panel.

Right-click opens the standard browser context menu (which differs between browsers).

Ah, a left click!  Never gave it a thought to try it that way.  :-[
That works for me Mario, thank you.

Thanks. Not a big deal in some respects, but it's good to have that option. I'm also one of those who feels slightly nervous when there's an unneeded target marker on the map.

Mario, et al,
I've been out for the evening so have not had the opportunity to reply.

First thank you for making the change Mario - I have not yet tried it out though!

The reason I ask is that a number of images was in one place, then another set were about 20 km away. I wanted to adjust the next set of images this was giving me issues as the target marker was still active (out of my zoomed window).

Aubrey.

PS: Great how you were able to make the change so quickly and effectively. I had a quick look at the code... I still have a long way to go with javascript!

The Map Panel is the most complex app, because it incorporates and manages both the OpenStreetMap and Google Maps libraries.
