Sort Order Incorrect?

Sorry to ask but I have attempted to find the answer to my question but have failed miserably.

I am new to iMatch, only been using it for a few days.

I've added my images from my internal hard drive to iMatch and the images aren't in order as expected.

From the image you can (hopefully) see what I mean with the files marked as being in year 2015 & 2016 even though I haven't added those years as yet.

I I go to these images in file Explorer (Windows 10) and right click on them the 'Created' dates are correct for the appropriate years, not the years showing.

Do you know what is going on?

IMatch uses the EXIF/XMP timestamps to determine the timestamp IMatch uses internally and for the {File.DateTime} variable.
If an image has neither EXIF nor XMP metadata, IMatch uses the 'last modified on disk' timestamp provided by Windows.

See this help topic for full details: https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#tech_exifdate.htm

NEF files usually have this date and time. You sort by Capture Time (Newest First) and looking at the file window, it looks like the sort order is correct.
The first file has a created/digitized time of yesterday (whatever your local time is) so it is sorted first.

Tip: You can see the created / digitized timestamp in your file when you switch the Metadata Panel to the "Default" layout. These are the timestamps IMatch has derived from the EXIF/XMP data found in the image file (or XMP sidecar file).
