Drone photos sorting by each take off?

Is there a way to make automatic category by each  takeoff? I guess it could be done by time intervals or something.  The drone does 10-20 shots per minute (30 min in total) then go down to charge batteries and continue from the roughly last point, same altitude.   So visually it's almost indistinguishable.  But the sun angle is different now and photogrammetry software holds up at such points not stitching series properly.

Could iMatch make  sequences with that longer intervals as a separation somehow?

Data-driven categories can be created on all metadata contained in your files.
They create a new child category whenever there is a new value for the tag / variable used is detected.

If you can find a metadata tag recorded by your drone that allows you to pinpoint this, then yes. Look at the metadata of your files in the The ExifTool Command Processor - because IMatch by default does not import arbitrary maker notes or other proprietary data to reduce overhead - The Tag Manager

Maybe you can/need to transform the tag with variable functions to make it work. Maybe you can use a sequence number. I have no idea what data your files contain so I cannot provide more detailed help.

Thanks Mario. I am not sure , looks like th drone: Mavic Pro  doesn't do any special tags.       Perhaps it could write some takeoff/down  log somewhere but the soft controlling it is pretty simple, I am not sure if and where it might be.   Besides  I have only a hige pile of photos from my client, nothing else.   

I wonder could it be same kind of automattic scope  like with gps data?  So for example I could select a 20 min +/- from any given shot. Since the drone needs much longer to recharge  it could be a simple solution .   Kind of small timeline interval?

Maybe the Auto Stack feature n IMatch can help? It can stack files based on time intervals and even variables.

Not sure I understood. Could you elaborate please.

Did you use auto-stacking by timestamp? This should stack your files automatically by each flight.

I would do it with auto-stacking as Mario said, and than I would make a note in the "Credit" field (XMP Photoshop\Credit) automatically or by hand.

What makes the "credit" field particularly suitable?

Most of picture viewer can show it (and it is on IMatch default Metadata panel, too), but most of time one does not use it. And its name somewhat related to "image source". Its is not the standard use of that field, but makes sense to use for that purpose.
