Hi Mario,

As can be seen in the attachment a large number (some 200 out of 6000+) are not shown correctly in the thumpnail window.
These are .jpg files which can be opened normally in any other photo viewer.
I use IMatch version 2019.6.2 (64-bit).
How to correct this error?

Kind Regards,
Frans

I'm sorry. I cannot open DOCX files for security reasons.
Do you know how to save a screen shot as a plain JPEG image to attach here (without using Microsoft Office) or do you need instructions?
Tip: In Windows 10 just press <Windows Key> + <Print>. This stores a screen shot in the "My Pictures\Screen Shots" folder. See https://www.howtogeek.com/226280/how-to-take-screenshots-in-windows-10/

As always in such cases, the IMatch log file from the IMatch session where you encountered the problem is very important. It will contain error messages and warnings IMatch has logged while processing your files.
Many things can go wrong when ingesting images. See log file for more info.

Often if one or more images cannot be processed, they are locked by another application, the format is unknown to IMatch, the virus checker interferes and blocks the files, the metadata is corrupted, ...

What happens if you select these files and press Shift+Ctrl+F5 and then request a "force rescan"? If this works, the files were probably blocked by something external.

Hi Mario,

In the attachment the printscreen picture.

Kind Regards,
Frans

This looks really wrong. Not even the file names show!
Is this a custom File Window Layout or one of the standard layouts?

Did you follow my instructions and did a forced rescan of these files? It not, please do. If you did, what are the results?

Hi Mario,

Shift+Ctrl+F5 did the trick thank you!

By the way, what does "not allocated files (niet toegewezen bestanden)" mean?

Kind Regards,
Frans

Mario

Where? In which context?

Do you mean the category which shows all files not assigned to a category yet?

Yes, you can see it in the attachment left under. I translated it from Dutch, sorry.
All of the photos (6308) are not assigned, but they are almost all in categories.

Mario

See the description of these categories.
There is a difference between a file being in a category automatically (like @Keywords or ISO) and a file manually being assigned to a category.

See the category help for more info: Functions and Keywords The formulas described there are used for these two categories.
