Hello,

i think this has been answered before, but i cannot find the answer.

I know i have many unconfirmed faces (900). I selected all people in the people view and filtered for "people->files with unconfirmed faces".

In case I know "John" has unconfirmed faces, i can open up the face manager and confirm all unconfirmed faces.
But how do i know which faces to look at, in the the face manger?
Do i have to select each face one by one and check if the filter for unconfirmed faces brings up faces?

Thanks for your help
Ben

You select a batch of files which contains unconfirmed faces for a large number of persons. This means you might see 5 or 10 or 100 unconfirmed faces for each person in your database, depending on what your scope is.
I don't think this is an efficient way to do this.

+ Why not select a person in the People View and open the Face Manager with F4. Check for unconfirmed faces for this person.
+ Repeat for each person in your database.
+ Tip: If the image shows only one person, you can open the Face Manager for this person with F4 directly in the file window.

or,  if you want to use the Filter Panel for this,

+ combine unconfirmed with a person to see unconfirmed faces for a specific person.
+ You can then select the files and confirm the person directly in the File Window (context menu .... faces and  sub-menu)

I think you just described the missing functionality. Right now, i am doing as you suggest. But lets say i have 30 different persons in my people view, then i would have to repeat above steps 30 times.
So, the missing feature would be to somehow highlight which persons are potentially in the current scope of unconfirmed faces. I am sure there are several ways of higlighting. For example in the people list on the left add another number -> 27 files (7 unconfirmed)

Ah, ok havent tried the latest iMatch update. Works with 2020.4.6

Other related questions:
- What does the number in the filter panel below each person mean? Doesn't seem to correlate to any filtering
- If i do CTRL+A in the people list (left side), then all people get highlighted, but the scope in the file window doesn't change. It does change correctly if i select the same people by selecting the upper most and then SHIFT+lowest.

Thanks
Ben

You want to confirm the faces for each person. How could you do that otherwise?
And for only 30 people this is done very quickly.

The People Filter shows you all persons in the current scope.

Which number do you mean?.
The only number is see is something like "5 files", which is the number of files containing faces of that person in the scope?

I think i didn't explain it well enough.

Confirming unconfirmed faces via the face manager works very good  ;D
Before i can use the face manager, i need to determine which faces do have unconfirmed faces. If i have many people defined, i need to go through all people to find out if they have unconfirmed faces or not.
So, I think there should be a quicker way to highlight which faces have unconfirmed faces.

Possibles solutions could be:
- Some kind of info/highlight in the people view
- Some kind of info in the face manager

You can use the unconfirmed collection to see all unconfirmed faces. The People Filer will show all persons in that scope, which is all persons with unconfirmed faces.
There is also a open feature request for showing the # unconfirmed faces in the People View. I have not looked into this and this may cause performance problems.
Usually all this is a 'problem' only when you start with face recog. Once you have confirmed all faces, you only need to bother with new incoming images.
