Viewer improvement suggestions

I have two suggestions for the viewer:

1) When the viewer is set to show several images it currently shows a sequence of consecutive images from the filmstrip. A more liberal way of selecting the shown images would be helpful for comparing images that are not necessarily closely following each other. This could for example be done by "pinning" one or more images so that the pinned images remain viewed while the others change.

2) I see that both <Enter> and <Shift>+<Enter> opens images in the viewer in the same way. It could be nice to have a function to add images to the viewed selection, for example by binding <Shift>+<Enter> to add images to the viewer without removing those already there, while <Enter> works as today (replacing the whole set).

Hi Mario,

would it be possible, to select two or more pictures in the viewer inside the "Film Strip" by STRG + Click to see all selected pictures in the viewer at the same time?
When I want to compare pictures side by side, currently it is very complicated by Numpad + and Numpad -.

Or at least to put some pictures outside the viewer without leaving the viewer?

I second both previous posts.  Tried to compare two separate images today and had to return to the thumbnail window - send the wanted images
to the viewer - and after had to start the viewer with the previous images again.

There are still two major additions I would like to see:

1. A Metadata panel ( I like to be able to enter TITLE/DESCRIPTION as I go thru and add categories.)

2. Have Ctrl G return from the viewer to the thumbnail of the image which is currently in the viewer
(rather than return to the first thumbnail in the folder)

Closing the Viewer automatically selects the active image in the active file window.
Check the corresponding setting under Edit > Preferences > Application: Viewer.

<Ctrl>+<G> makes the currently viewed file in the Viewer the focused file in the file window without closing the Viewer. This is useful when you have the Viewer on a second monitor or in docked mode and you just want to jump to the current file.

<Ctrl>+<Al>+<G> does the same and closes the Viewer.

Quote<Ctrl>+<G> makes the currently viewed file in the Viewer the focused file in the file window without closing the Viewer.
This does not seem to work for me. It works when I close the viewer but not on Ctrl-G nor Alt-Ctrl_G.
No file is focused but the corresponding folder is shown. (Preferences is set correctly to show)

Means this should be under BUG REPORTS.

Works here like a charm. Anybody else with this problem?

Ctrl+G works, like it should work. The only thing I see: If I have selected e.g. 10 pics in the folder-view, sent them to the viewer and close the viewer, then the selection is lost ...

Not good. A glitch. I'll fix that for build 122.
