Time Wiz and files without time stamp

Rather often I have pictures made with a Samsung mobile without timestamps in the metadata. The Time Wiz option just changes existing time stamps. It does nothing if timestamp does not exist (value for "Original value" is empty.
What solution do you recommend? The " Modify Exif Date & Time" option from the Tools menu do generate a timestamp? Or is there a better solution?

Thank you for your help, Gerd

Mario

Did you consider the "set" option, which allows you to set a timestamp?

Hi Mario. Thank you for your reply. I guess you talk about the "Set Absolute Date and Time" option in the Time Wiz Tool or am I wrong? I tried to set the according metadata tags but the file will be skipped. There is no "Original value" in the file available. I will attach the picture and a screenshot.

You can achieve the desired result by selecting the files in a File Window and then setting a date/time for the "Date Created" and "Date Subject Created" tags in the "Default" layout.

I have tried to reproduce this behavior, but I could not.
When I use a file without any metadata, IMatch uses the last modified date and time to fill the XMP date created / date subject created.
And even when I delete these tags so no date is available, the TimeWiz displays the default date and time.

How do you manage to make it show no date, like in your screen shot?
What are the steps to reproduce this?

I just import the files and some of them (Samsung S7) behave like this. Only very few files are affected. Setting the Metadata tags {File.MD.XMP::xmp\CreateDate\CreateDate\0} and {File.MD.XMP::photoshop\DateCreated\DateCreated\0} solves the Problem. The TimeWiz shows the "Original value" and changes it according my settings. After deleting these Metadata values, TimeWiz doesn't show the "Original value" anymore - no chance to set the Date with the TimeWiz.
Did you try it with the two pics I have attached?
It is ok for me to set the two metadata variables manually. This solves the problem for me.

Please attach the images again as a ZIP file.
The community system re-encodes every uploaded file, often stripping or changing metadata.

I get sensible results for both files after importing them.
The IMG-20210213-WA0001.jpg shows 2021:04:05 16:43:14 for the orignial timestamp, and the other file shows 2021:04:08 18:01:59 (time of download).
