Take a look at this:

Looks cool to view a trip like this :) Something for Imatch? :D

Let's see...

This iOS/Android app is created by a company listing 34 employees/team members. And they offer this one app, plus the back-end cloud services.

I am just one person.

There is a free version of this app.
The Pro version is a subscription, for ~7€ per month.

Why should IMatch re-invent the wheel? You can just use that app?
They already did all the work.

I see they also offer an API (programming interface) which allows other applications to upload data into your account.
IMatch could theoretically use that (if there is enough demand) to push data from your database (images, GPS data, descriptions) into the cloud so you can use that to virtually relive your hike or bike tour.

What I understand from the page is that they ake a timeline out of the images. I think for every Image in Imatch you can add the position and a description to the image itself (the time taken is allready there), so when having this Metadata, you can do whatever you want with the files.

Is it possible to add Coordinates to a Mp3-File? (I do not know, I do not have MP3-Files inside IMatch).

Could be nice as a different display for a tour, but then there could be also the possibility to show it on a Map.

I thinkm this sounds like a interesting feature, but I would say not for IMatch. IMatch should take control about writing the Metadata to files. And then there should be a specific application to display the data, maybe also combined with a gpx-file.

IMatch can lay out your files on the Map, using their GPS coordinates and timestamps. This shows you, for all selected files in the File Window, where the images were taken, with lines connecting the dots, using arrows to indicate the direction of movement.

See: Displaying the File Route

If you combine that with the Satellite view of your Map Provider, you get a very good idea of where the images where taken, and in which order.
See your entire hike or bike tour etc.
No fancy fly-over or sound effects, though. I guess the demand for that is rather low in the IMatch user base.

Certainly. IMatch manages a full XMP record for each MP3 file, and it can include rating, label, description, keywords, GPS data, location data etc. You can even reverse-geocode MP3 files  :)
Note: ExifTool does not embed XMP into MP3 files, so IMatch keeps the XMP data in a sidecar file.

Cool  8)  I think I should also add my Videos to the DB. New possibilities come to my mind  ;D

Mario

IMatch can handle all common video formats.
