IMatch breaks during face recognition

Hello,

I have performed a manual face detection in all images.
The database already contained people from IM 2020.
After a short time IM terminated without any message.
In the Windows events I found an entry about the termination (see attachment "Termination 8pm 52.txt".
There were no other Windows events at this time (see attachment "Windows events.jpg".
The log file is also attached.
In the topic "[GERMAN]IMatch abort after changing a favorite" it was pointed out that a dump is generated if the problem is with IM.
Here no dump was generated.

After restarting IM the face recognition continued.

I tried to track down the error. But unfortunately without success!

By the way, IMatch is the only application on my computer that exits at irregular intervals without further notice.

I would be very happy if someone could help me with troubleshooting.

When IMatch crashes, it produces a Dump File.
If this does not happen, the crash happens in something external, like a driver or operating system component.

If you run face recognition for extended time, your system will be stressed a lot. 100% CPU load for prolonged time is often revealing stability issues under stress on computers. Not all systems which handle day-to-day work are really stable and reliably under prolonged stress. Your system may be one of them.

Reduce the number or parallel threads IMatch uses for face recognition to reduce the overall stress on your system. This often works wonders.
As usual, I have already explained all that in the IMatch help and you only need to read and act: Controlling Computer Utilization

I have installed the current version 2021.8.10 and then reduced the number of parallel threds to 2.
When saving IMatch said goodbye with the following error message:

"IMatch has encountered a problem....IMatch will now write a memory dump...." (see attachment "Dumpmeldung.jpg").
In the help it is written that after this message it is shown where the dump was written.
This did not happen!

Then I found in the directory "C:\Users\Frank\AppData\Local\Temp" the 3 files IMATCH_... . But no zip file.

Where can I find the dump?

The DUMP file is written by Windows. If Windows has finished writing the DUMP file, the worker process controlling it (separate from IMatch) will tell you.
If you don't see the dialog, Windows did not finish write the DUMP file or the process was terminated by a virus checker or other software.

According to the attached log file, IMatch was already shut-down without any problem.
Which also indicates that the crash is caused by something external.

I recommend you do a full reboot.
2 threads for face recognition is to little. Try number of processors in your computer / 2

Thanks.
1. I can imagine that my virus checker (ESET Smart Security) has influence on the behavior of IMatch.
Which directories/files should I exclude from the check?

2. in the log file "IMATCH6_LOG_BACKUP.TXT" I got the message

"Spelling: Cannot find a dictionary for language 'de' or failed to load.  'V:\developmentIMatch5\src\IMatchNG\IMatch.cpp(3839)'"

I have noticed, this refers to the  drive "V". In addition to this message, there are others that refer to the  drive "V".
This drive has nothing to do with IMatch. There are no files for IMatch on this drive.
I had previously installed version 2020 and also used this drive. It looks like IMatch is reverting to old, now
invalid entries from some configuration.
Is this a problem? How can I clean this up?
There are no entries in the registry regarding IMatch that reference this drive.

V: just indicates a "virtual" drive which allows me to tell which source file was causing the log entry. The V: refers to my computer, not yours.

QuoteWhich directories/files should I exclude from the check?

The database folder. The IMatch executable file. Same as always.
