There is a weird thing going on with one of my files. It has happened a few times before but I have corrected it by actually rotating the photo in Photoshop as a work-around, but now that it has happened more than once I want to address the problem to figure out what is going on.  I have a rather large tiff file and I have rotated it using the File.MD.XMP::tiff\Orientation\Orientation\0 and setting the orientation to Rotate 90 CW, just as I have with many others with no issues. I then make sure to write the metadata changes.

In the Media & Folder View, the file then is shown rotated, but in the Viewer and in Windows Explorer, the file remains un-rotated, in its original orientation. If I try to rotate it virtually CW 90 degrees, the file then shows rotated 180 degrees in the viewer, so the original 90 CW rotation seems to be present, but not fully functioning, for lack of a better term.

Any ideas on what is happening?

Noth worth the time to investigate. Such things sometimes happen. Wrong orientation entry, multiple files in the TIFF etc.
